About the Gibbs Sextet
The Gibbs SextetThe Gibbs Sextet was formed in May 2008 with a shared passion for the music of the English Church. Its aim is to introduce music written for the English Church, from the Tudor period to the present day, to as wide an audience as possible, bringing alive some of the considerable quantity of rarely performed music which languishes in Cathedral, college and church libraries.

The Gibbs Sextet are currently seeking a patron and a corporate sponsor and would be very interested to hear from anyone willing to support us in this way.

The Gibbs Sextet are:

  • Alto 1 : Oliver Gerrish
  • Tenor 1 : Frankie Draper
  • Tenor 2 : Ben Cox
  • Baritone : Tom Allwood
  • Bass : Christopher Temmink

Frankie Draper: Musical Director

Frankie Draper was born and grew up in Surrey, where he received his early musical with the Royal School of Church Music. He was a Tenor Choral Scholar and Acting Tenor Lay Clerk in the choir of Carlisle Cathedral. This was followed by eight years as a Tenor Lay Vicar Choral in the choir of Lichfield Cathedral. During his time at Lichfield he went on various tours around the globe, which included singing a solo for High Mass at St Peter's Basilica in Rome and on Vatican radio.

In 2002 Frankie moved to London where he now pursues a career partly as a professional singer. He is a Deputy Lay Vicar Choral in the choirs of St Paul's Cathedral and Westminster Abbey, as well as being a deputy Lay Clerk at St George's Chapel Windsor Castle, and at Winchester and Southwark Cathedrals. Frankie is also a Gentleman in Ordinary in the choir of the Queen's Chapel Savoy.
